About Me

Hi there!

My name is Madison Allen, and I’m the owner of Finding Full. I’m so happy you’re here.

I began teaching group fitness classes, personal training, writing, speaking, and counseling women in fitness and wellness in December 2011.

In those early years, I spent (and wasted) lots of time trying new diets, exercise programs, schedules for eating, mindset mantras and the like…only to find very few of them helped me or my clients arrive at a place of content and rest with our bodies and relationships with food. The pursuit of the elusive “perfect size” came at a significant cost, and I was sick of paying up.

Through lots and lots and lots of trial and error (and transformative psychology research during my Master’s program), I learned some important lessons that have shaped the work I do at Finding Full, like…

  • The least interesting thing about me is my weight.

  • “Getting fit” is not our life’s purpose.

  • God actually cares about calorie-counting, nitpicking, and body hate, and He has a solution for it.

  • We are our best selves when we are physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and socially well. When we neglect one area, the others suffer.

  • When I am at my healthiest and happiest, I’m not a size 2, and that’s okay.

I’ve conquered a 10-year pattern of chronic dieting and disordered eating, found freedom from body comparison and thinking about my weight all the time, and finally found FULL without turning to a pint of Ben and Jerry’s. I want the same for you!
